Description A rare and early Meissen figure of Harlequin with bagpipies modelled by J J Kändler.
Condition Restoration to end of sleeve and cuff of left arm; end of forefinger and tip of first finger on right hand - part of bow on hat, mouthpiece and base of pipe
Literature Meredith Chilton: Harlequin Unmasked. The Commedia Dell'Arte and Porcelain Sculpture p.p 294-5 , Nos 73 and 74 - where it is stated that the figure was first modelled in 1736.
