Description Sèvres soft-paste sugar bowl and cover (pot à sucre Hébert) painted with a complicated and elaborate design of gold patterning with pink, blue and green embellishments - beautiful pink flower finial. The two large gilded cartouches are painted with full florid pastoral scenes with ‘Enfants Boucher ‘; one with two sleeping boys with a sheep, the other with two boys gardening with a rake and a watering can.

Date letter N for 1766.
Painted by Etienne-Jean Chabry fils ou l’âiné ( 1764-87)

The painting of the cartouche with the sleeping boys with a sheep (but omitting two sheep), is taken from an engraving by Pierre Aveline after a design by François Boucher.
