Description
|
A rare and important Furstenberg plate painted by Pascha Weitsch (Pascha Johann Friedrich Weitsch, 1723–1803) with a monastery near Wolfenbüttel. The border is moulded with elegant cartouches and embellished with gilt, enclosing finely painted flowers and birds, while flying insects are scattered around. Marked in an underglaze blue script f and in black script, "Kloster Heinig bey Wolfenbuttel" (Heinig monastery near Wolfenbüttel). 23.5cm Dia.
