Description
|
A fine Meissen figure of the Gallant at his writing desk, 'Kavalier am Schreibitisch' modelled by J.J. Kändler. Inspired from a painting by 'Jean-Baptiste-Siméon Chardin 1699-1779' entitled "Le Château de Carte" - currently on display at Musée du Louvre, Paris, France. This figure is from a series of Meissen figures modelled by J. J. Kändler all inspired after 'Chardin'. We have other Meissen groups available also inspired by Chardin... Literature: U.
