Description A Sèvres sugar bowl and cover (Pot à sucre Calabre) elaborately painted with a wide polychrome band including an overflowing basket of pink roses suspended from a blue ribbon, flowering tendrils, flying birds and colourful scrolls on a pale-yellow ground, the rims reserved with a continuous flower garland between purple lines, the cover surmounted with a gilded fruit and leaves.

Date letter KK for 1787

Painter's mark for either Jacques Fontaine or Mlle. Marie-Louise-Françoise-Sophie Fontaine (later Mme. Jullien l’aînée), incised marks

Condition Restoration to a small chip at the rim and foot and two tiny chips inside the cover (one of the chips is on the edge and glazed over in the manufactory) displays beautifully
