Description
|
A fine and rare Worcester armorial saucer dish, painted with the arms of Viscount Howe of Langer: The service was probably made for Richard Howe, 4th Viscount (8 March 1726 – 5 August 1799) Azure on a bend sinister, out of a ducal coronet or a plume of five feathers. The decoration consists of scattered floral sprays in mauve. The arms are painted in a rococo mauve frame, which has a spray of scarlet pimpernel emerging from it on each side.
