Description
|
A rare and early tall Bow baluster-shaped vase painted with a kakiemon decoration in a typical orange and green palette with gilded highlights, the flying ho-ho bird, a banded hedge from which grows a flowering prunus. Around the collar are two small vignettes enclosing small grisaille oriental scenes of a boatman, a house, and a tree. Two more flying birds are painted around the neck with Kakiemon flowers. Marked with an incised I mark. 21cm High
