Dates 1795
Medium Porcelain
Origin Germany
Description A Fürstenberg scent bottle modelled as a recumbent sheep on a green base. The tree trunk acts as the receptacle and is surmounted by the stopper formed as a woodpecker on a branch. Gilt metal mounts.

Marked with an indistinct crossed swords and star mark.

9.5cm High

6.5cm Wide

Condition Head of woodpecker and left ear of sheep restored.
Literature Literature: Ghislaine Pillivuyt: Les Flaçons de la Seduction, p. 152, where this scent bottle is erroneously attributed to Meissen, due to the mark being the crossed swords mark, used by both factories.
