Description A superb Meissen tea bowl and saucer, probably painted by Christian Friedrich Herold, with elegant, industrious merchants by the quayside with tall ships in the background. The broad borders with intricate continuous gilt, iron red and purple scrollwork are embellished with Böttger lustre. The interior of the tea bowl is painted with "indianische Blumen".

Both pieces marked 73 and crossed swords.
