Description
|
An extraordinary pair of Chelsea plates, the fine painting is influenced and inspired by the famous Mecklenburg-Strelitz service with coloured enamels of a central exotic bird positioned at the forefront of a detailed landscape with scattered insects in flight. The lobed border is painted with garlands of flowers, alternating with five mazarine blue ground panels incorporating gilt butterflies and moths. 22cm Dia. Gold anchor marks. The stripes of light are from the camera, the porcelain is in fine condition.
