Description
|
A very fine Sèvres circular biscuit medallion plaque moulded in high relief with a portrait of King Louis XV presented in a gilded wooden frame.
He was king of France from 1715 to 1774.
Inscribed Alexandre Brachard at the shoulder.
Original factory label to the reverse.
10cm Dia.
He succeeded his great-grandfather, Louis XIV, at the age of five. Until he reached maturity on 15 February 1723 (then defined as his 13th birthday), the kingdom was ruled by Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, as Regent of France.
