Description
|
A fine St James’s Italian Comedy scent bottle modelled as Harlequin and Columbine; the seated columbine holds her hand aloft with a goblet of red wine above her head and a wine bottle in her other hand. Harlequin with a black mask, stands by her side holding a sliced-open watermelon. A pecking bird sitting on a bunch of grapes surrounded by leaves forms the stopper. The receptacle at the back is formed as a tree stump encrusted with leaves. Typical flower painting to her skirt, including two red cherries. Green mound base, the underside painted with a typical green circular motif with flowers in the centre. 9cm High

Condition
|
Restoration to the top of the tree stump at the point where the stopper arrives, some leaves restored and a small chip to the tip of her nose filled.
