Description German or Low countries wine glass 'Het Groeyen En Bloeyen Van Ossen En Koeyen'

The goblet has a thistle shaped bowl, which is 8 cm (3.2 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is wheel engraved with a continuous scene of cows and oxen in a meadow by an impressive farm building, the border with an inscription “T Groeyen En Bloeyen Van Ossen En Coeyen” (the rearing of and prospering from oxen and cows). The bowl sits on a large facet cut cushion knop, a smaller cushion knop cut with a band of olives, and an inverted baluster cut with hexagonal facets to the upper two thirds. The facet cuts expire just above the large, conical, folded foot that measures 9.2 cm (3.7 inches) in diameter. It is 19.8 cm (7.9 inches) in height and weighs 250 gm. There is a rough pontil mark to the base.
