Description
|
A fine first period Worcester coffee cup, painted at the atelier of James Giles with a Mandarin style pattern of Chinese figures in various pursuits, with reserves around the handle painted in puce monochrome of a waterscape and a sampan, with smaller oval reserves around the top and bottom of the handle painted with black spiky leaves, all on a ground of ornate gilt scrolls.
