Description
|
A very fine and rare first period Worcester tea cup and saucer painted at the London workshop of James Giles in the Sèvres style with floral sprays, including roses and peonies within double blue/gilt line borders, dentil gilding to the rim and the handle painted with a row of gilt dots. Crossed swords and nine mark. Provenance: Metropolitan Museum of Art. 5cm High (cup) 13cm Dia. (saucer)
